Our client a facilities management and maintenance company based in Bristol is looking to secure a multi-skilled (electrical & mechanical) maintenance engineer on a permanent basis.


Job title Mobile Maintenance Engineer
Location Bristol based
Salary £25k + Van (with fuel card)
20 days holiday plus bank holidays
Key skills Electrically qualified – C&G 236 Parts 1&2 or equivalent
Mechanical experience within a maintenance environment
Previous experience of Planned Maintenance and Installation
Good knowledge of PPM systems
Full UK Driving licence
Ability to work to own targets and deadlines
Hours 08.00 -16.00 Monday to Friday

The successful mobile multi-skilled maintenance engineer will be required to work on various prestigious sites in and around Bristol for a growing facilities management provider.

Reporting to the maintenance manager the ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a background within commercial facilities.
The successful multi-skilled maintenance engineer must be able to perform PPM and reactive maintenance on all mechanical and electrical equipment. In addition to this you maybe asked to carry out new works and projects as required. You will be able to maintain up to date records of servicing of plant and equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
The multi-skilled maintenance engineer will also be required to carry out any other duties which are deemed necessary.
Mainly you will work well in a team, have the ability to plan and organise your work and have the drive and ambition to succeed with in a company which strives to promote internally.

Our client is a world leading innovative engineering company in the field of metrology that continues to win awards for product development. Due to company growth and promotions they are looking bring on board and buyer to assist in supply chain management.

You will become an integral part of the supply chain management team ensuring that cost and stock are managed to correct levels to achieve best value and efficiency.

You will be responsible for commodities:

Electronics
Machined Items – Turned and milled steel and aluminium
Sheet Metal
Raw Materials – primarily Steel and Aluminium
Optical
Packaging – Cardboard and Polystyrene
Injection moulded products.

Those with purchasing and management knowledge of the above, especially of packaging will fit perfectly into the role.

This role involves the purchasing of a range of production commodities, and liaison with internal customers and external suppliers in support of production plans, customer requirements and cost targets.

The key outputs and deliverables are as follows:

• Effective management and control of supply chains to ensure that production requirements and time scales are met.
• Supplier price negotiation and management to ensure team cost reduction targets are realised
• Control of stock and planning parameters within an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) environment, ensuring minimum stock levels are managed consistent with risk analysis.
• Liaison both internally and externally to support resolution of quality related issues and problems.
• The implementation of efficient supply chain communication and logistics solutions to ensure total acquisition costs are minimised

Qualifications and expertise:

All applicants require the following:

• A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths. A post GCSE (or equivalent) qualification(s) would be an advantage.
• Some knowledge and expertise of working in this field.
• PC literate in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel to intermediate level.
• Full driving licence.

In addition to the above, although not essential, it is also desirable if applicants have the following:

• A knowledge of electronic components and/or mechanical engineering components.
• Practical expertise of working within a purchasing environment, ideally within manufacturing. An awareness of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) / ERP and Stock Control processes will be an advantage.
• A background of working in importing.
• A willingness to study for a CIPS qualification.

Training will be provided, including detailed product training.

Qualifications and expertise:

All applicants require the following:

• An HNC or degree qualification in Engineering or another technical/design discipline; or a sufficient equivalent background with a technical apprenticeship.
• A broad knowledge of electronic, electromechanical and electronic components.
• An ability to read engineering drawings.
• Demonstrable practical expertise of working within this field.
• PC literate in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel to intermediate level.
• Full driving licence.

In addition to the above, although not essential, it is also desirable if applicants have the following:

• An understanding of contract law with the ability to draft supply contracts.
• The ability to understand costs and cost breakdowns (e.g. in materials).
• A knowledge of electronic components and/or mechanical engineering components.
• Practical expertise of working within purchasing, ideally within a technical manufacturing environment. An awareness of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) / ERP and Stock Control processes will be an advantage.
• A background of working in importing.
