£27,000 to £30,000 DOE + Overtime Opportunities

Monday to Friday. Early Finish Friday.

This position would suit applicants with hands-on experience in waste management, yard operations, or site maintenance. You’ll need a valid forklift licence and confidence operating industrial equipment such as balers and compactors. Previous experience working with hazardous waste (COSHH) and general site upkeep is highly desirable.

Working outdoors within a busy manufacturing environment, you’ll take ownership of waste segregation, recycling, and site maintenance to ensure compliance with environmental standards and a clean, safe working environment. You’ll also support the Facilities team with day-to-day maintenance and small improvement projects.

The Role:

  • Manage and segregate waste into correct recycling streams

  • Operate machinery including balers, compactors, and forklifts

  • Handle and control hazardous waste in line with regulations

  • Carry out planned site maintenance tasks

  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of external areas

  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager and Admin team to arrange collections and support site projects

  • Follow Health & Safety and Environmental standards (ISO 14001)

The Person:

  • Experienced in waste management, site, or yard operations

  • Holds a forklift licence (essential)

  • Knowledge of hazardous waste/COSHH procedures

  • Familiar with industrial equipment such as balers and compactors

  • Practical, proactive, and safety-conscious

  • Comfortable working outdoors in an industrial environment
