BMR Solutions are currently looking to recruit for a Product Support Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) in Chippenham<\/p>\n
Job Title:<\/strong> Product Support Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)<\/p>\n Contract:<\/strong> Contract, potential to go permanent after 6 months<\/p>\n Rate\/Salary:<\/strong> \u00a320 p\/hr PAYE<\/p>\n Hours:\u00a0<\/strong>37 hours per week Aim of the role:<\/p>\n To work in a product support environment. \n<\/strong>JOB SPECIFICATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nThe role is for a mechanical engineer who is flexible enough to work in the varied role of product support engineer.
\nOne minute you may be modelling on 3D CAD, the next you may be troubleshooting a problem in production. You could be creating new parts on the PLM system or amending an older drawing to meet modern requirements. You may be called upon to help to resolve an issue on the shop floor or to attend a meeting with senior managers. If you solve a problem you may be required to write a competent technical document to accompany it.
\nDue to the long service life of many of the products a simple drawing change may require you to use a 3D CAD package or 2D CAD package.<\/p>\n
\n\u00b7Experience of Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) tools is important
\n\u00b7Qualified to at least HNC in a mechanical engineering discipline
\n\u00b73D CAD to a competent level, SolidWorks preferred but other CAD systems considered.
\n\u00b7P.C literate
\n\u00b7M.S. office applications to a good standard
\n\u00b7Some hands on mechanical experience is preferred
\n\u00b7Ability to draft technical documents and reports to a good standard
\n\u00b7Can react to changing workloads and priorities
\n\u00b7Attention to detail is essential
\n\u00b7Good communication skills are a must as any applicant will be expected to talk to different departments at different levels as a matter of course<\/p>\n
