In December 2020, Boris Johnson announced his ten-point green revolution proposal, which addressed the government\u2019s goal to improve future the UK\u2019s future energy development.<\/p>\n

What is Hinkley Point C?<\/h2>\n

Hinkley Point C is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in 30 years. The site is still currently under construction in Somerset, being built by EDF Energy<\/a>, and is predicted to be in operation in 2025.<\/p>\n

When completed, it will be capable of generating 3,260MW of secure, low carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, as well as providing long term benefits to the UK economy.<\/p>\n
